Grace is an early-career planner who is passionate about planning for sustainable and liveable communities. She has a Bachelor of Natural Environment and Wilderness Studies and a Master of Planning from the University of Tasmania. She currently works as a Planner at Era Advisory.

Holly Andree PIA (Assoc.)

Entura

Since graduating from UTAS with a Bachelor of Natural Environment and Wilderness Studies and a Master of Planning in 2023, Holly has been working as a graduate environmental consultant applying her passion and knowledge in land-use planning. This will be Holly’s second year as a member of the Emerging Planners Committee (ne Young Planners).

Rayha Afroz PIA (Assoc.)

Glamorgan Spring Bay Council

Rayha completed a bachelor's degree in Environmental Management and obtained a master's degree in Planning from the University of Tasmania. Currently, she is working as a Planner at Glamorgan Spring Bay Council, and is a member of the Planning News Editorial Committee. Her interests include research, urban and regional planning, policy implementation and analysis, and sustainable community development.

Aruni Gunasekara PIA (Assoc.)

University of Tasmania

Aruni is a Master of Planning student at the University of Tasmania with a background in Property Valuation and Real Estate Management from Sri Lanka. Passionate about sustainable development and urban resilience. Aruni strives to foster collaboration among emerging planners and contribute to shaping Tasmania’s planning policies for a more sustainable and inclusive future.

Vinodha Manimaran PIA (Assoc.)

 

Vinodha holds a Bachelor of Architecture and has professional experience in urban design and Architecture across the Middle East. She is currently undertaking postgraduate study in Environmental Planning at the University of Tasmania while working in the Architecture and planning sector. With a strong interest in place-making, housing equity, and sustainable urban development, Vinodha brings a multidisciplinary and international perspective to the Emerging Planners Committee.

Ryan Peterson PIA (Assoc.)

Clarence City Council

Ryan is currently studying planning and has a background working in creative technologies. Ryan is passionate about transport planning, cycling infrastructure and planning for sustainable, people-friendly places. Ryan is keen to help connect student planners and emerging planning professionals as part of the emerging planners committee.

Harsana Sritharan PIA (Assoc.)

University of Tasmania

Harsana Sritharan (She/Her) is a Master of Planning student at the University of Tasmania, bringing a foundation in Landscape Architecture and a curiosity for the evolving fields of landscape urbanism and placemaking. She is driven by a desire to shape meaningful, people-centred environments through integrated design and strategic planning.

Alex Brosnan PIA (Assoc.)

 

Alex graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Regional and Town Planning. During her studies she interned at City of Hobart and IreneInc. She is currently working on transport infrastructure projects at the Department of State Growth in a stakeholder engagement capacity. She values the role engagement plays in providing a platform for all Tasmanians to have a voice in shaping planning outcomes. She is passionate about creating resilient, connected and sustainable communities and is interested in transit oriented development. 

Andy Low PIA (Assoc.)

Kingborough Council

Andy is an emerging planner working in local government in Tasmania, with a strong interest in how strategic and well-aligned systems can strengthen planning practice in Australia. He is particularly interested in drawing on Asian-centric planning perspectives and exploring how these approaches might inform planning thinking in the Australian context. Andy holds postgraduate qualifications in planning and is currently undertaking further study. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring Tasmania's wilderness and the outdoor lifestyle the state has to offer.
